Just look at any of Judas Priest’s lyrics; Halford was as serious SF fan from early on.

I also had in mind, though, the idea that both genres are marginalized to some degree by mainstream opinion. But more on that later. .

I like both and a friend of mine who sings in a heavy metal band is into scifi, too. Same can be seen from some lyrics of other bands, too.
